EmulatorX is an locked source PlayStation 3 (PS3) emulator for the Windows and Mac OS operating platforms. In this new release, there were already many PS3 games that are suitable, and more games even have full functionality (like God of War III).If you want to play games you need either a PS3 DVD or the second method is to use a .ISO file from the game. To start the game you need to choose which files you want to use, in File - Open file - and then pick From file or DVD.NetplayIn the latest released version you can use the netplay service over the emulator! Still, you cant play you favorite games on the official PSN (PlayStation Network). You can play on LAN network or host your own servers. Please remember that this tool is still in early stages of development and has bugs.
Then I updated Retroarch to Version 1.2.2 (64 bit), downloaded the latest Mednafen PSX core version, and made a new cfg file. Then the trouble began. As soon as I load a cue file, Retroarch crashes with the following message:
ps3 emulator bios 1.2.2
I was having the same issue and the only thing that worked for me was downloading another copy of RetroArch. I have the bios files in the correct location on my old installation, and the core says they are present, but Mednafen PSX would still crash every time. Interestingly this same issue was also occurring on my SHIELD TV. Instead of installing a newer nightly, all I did was clear the data, re-download the core, and set the directory. Now it works great.
